Off with the Fairies
I’m delighted to announce the launch my new book, Forget-me-not Fairies, written by me and illustrated by Patricia McCarthy.
Join sisters Sophie and Ellen as they explore the magical world of Wishaway Wood. The book contains a collection of fabulously illustrated fairy stories interspersed with songs and activities such as how to make a fairy wand. For girls aged 5-8.
Click here to watch a video clip featuring the dulcet tones of yours truly singing The Wishing Song.
There’s also a special Forget-me-not Fairies site with activities and downloads.
You can pick up a copy of the book at all good bookshops. If not available, just ask them to order one in.
Cheers,
Marianne

Oh well done Marianne! It looks gorgeous… the perfect present for girls.
Thanks, Gay! I’ve just been in the UK where I got to meet the illustrator for the first time and see the original illustrations – a great experience.
I have just finished reading this book to my 6 year old (one story a night)I can not begin to tell you the amount of enjoyment she got from this book. She loved going to bed to have her fairy story there has been no other book that has come close to keeping her interested for so long .She was sad that we came to the end of it and was wanting another book about Sophie, Ellen and Wishaway Wood. Thankyou so much Marianne for keeping the magic alive in the mind of a six year old. Fantastic book hope you continue
Thanks, Marion! I’m so glad to hear your daughter enjoyed the book so much. Patricia, the illustrator, and I enjoyed creating it immensely. I just cast my mind back to when I was six years old and imagined the sort of fairy adventures I would liked to have had. We’re not sure if there will be a sequel yet, but we certainly hope so. Fingers crossed! Please send your daughter my best fairy wishes.
Marianne 🙂
*Fantastic book hope you continue to write about Wishaway Woods
Merry Christmas Marianne!
Looking forward to your next blog post
Come and see my Christmas rhino
Gay 🙂
ps Just then when I looked at the top of the page I thought it said ‘children’s author and pet’ which sounds very friendly.
Thanks, Gay! Merry Christmas to you too! If I really were a pet instead of a poet, I think I’d pick an axolotl because they get to laze around in a tank all day and eat.
